Zemfira will come to Armenia with a concert

From a provincial girl with a guitar to a cult figure, Zemfira has come a long and thorny path, leaving an indelible mark on the history of Russian music and continuing to remain popular and create even after she left Russia in 2022.

Zemfira was born in Ufa in 1976. Since childhood, she showed an interest in music, studied piano at a music school and sang in a choir. At the age of five, she made her debut on a local Ufa channel with a song about a lazy worm. In parallel with music, she was actively involved in sports, even becoming the captain of the women's national basketball team. However, art prevailed - after school, the artist left basketball and went to get a professional music education.  

After graduating from music school, Zemfira worked as an operator at the radio station "Europa Plus Ufa", where she met musicians who later became members of her first group. It was then that the first sketches of future hits began to form.

The decisive moment in Zemfira's career was her meeting with Leonid Burlakov, the producer of the group "Mumiy Troll". He appreciated the talent of the young singer and offered her cooperation. So, in 1998, Zemfira moved to Moscow to begin work on her debut album together with Ilya Lagutenko. The debut album "Zemfira", released in 1999, became a bridge between the artist and her army of fans. She spoke to her generation in a language they understood, touching on the themes of love, loneliness, self-discovery and protest against injustice. This is what the Russian listener, who had only male rock bands available to them, had been waiting for so long. Her songs are not just lyrics and melodies, but soundscapes in which you can get lost and find yourself again. It is easy to associate yourself with her, there is that very feeling of being “on the same wavelength” with a stranger, listening to a song replaces reflection and meditation. Zemfira’s music is understandable to several generations at once: those who grew up on her and those who know about her from the Internet. She seems to be outside of show business, and this also has a special charm.
